Overview

SWC Technology Partners is seeking to add a full-time Managed Services Network Engineer. This individual will be responsible for high level analysis, troubleshooting and project work within customer environments. Common technologies used will be Cisco and HP switches/routers including dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), firewalls including Cisco ASA and Fortigate. This position reports to the Team Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Remote administration and troubleshooting of switches, routers, and firewalls from multiple vendors. Routing protocols to include Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
  • Triage and resolve escalations from within the Managed Services team within defined customer SLAs
  • Configuration, installation and management of multiple network security systems to include Cisco ASA and Fortigate firewalls
  • Support/learn additional technologies as needed: Microsoft stack, cloud technologies, virtualization, storage
  • Be a problem solver - Identify solutions for hardware, software and network issues
  • Leverage remote support tools to resolve support requests
  • Communicate with clients in a highly professional and timely manner
  • Provide occasional on-call 24X7 support after business hours 1 week per month
  • Attend internal training to develop your skills and grow with us

Qualifications

  • 4 - 8 years of experience supporting and implementing network routers/switches/firewalls
  • 4+ years’ supporting LAN technologies; DNS, DHCP, VLAN, STP, VTP, SIP, SSL, NAT, MPLS etc.
  • 4+ years’ experience with WAN technologies/routing protocols; OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP, VoIP, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of network protocols, configurations, and operations
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical Tier 2 and 3 escalation issues and identify solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, positive attitude and desire to learn
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Experience working in a consulting environment is preferred
  • CCNA, MCSE, MCITP certification a plus
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer
